Additional information

In April 2011 a dermal irritation/corrosion study was conducted on Intermediate 2945989 as per OECD Guideline 404. Three rabbits were dosed dermally with Intermediate 2945989.  Erythema and edema were scored at 1,24, 48 and 72 hours following exposure to the test article.

In December 2009 Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeability Test was conducted on Intermediate 2945989. Opacity measurements and sodium fluorescein permeability were determined.

Effect level: empty Endpoint conclusion: Adverse effect observed

Justification for classification or non-classification

In the in vivo dermal irritation study, very slight erythema was observed for one animal at 1 hour following the 4 hour exposure, this was fully reversible. There was no other erythema or edema noted at any observation period. Therefore Intermediate 2945989, was considered not to be a dermal irritant.

On the basis of an in vitro score of 1.97 obtained in the Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeability Test, Intermediate 2945989, is considered to be non-irritating.
