Description of key information

The 21d-NOEC for reproduction is > 24.06 mg a.i./L in an OECD guideline 211 test with Daphnia magna under GLP (reliability 1). No siginificant effects were observed at the highest test concentration.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10, LC10 or NOEC for freshwater invertebrates:
24.06 mg/L

Additional information

In a key study, the chronic toxicity of sodium capryliminodipropionate towards Daphnia magna was investigated according to OECD guideline 211 under GLP. Daphnids were exposed to nominal concentrations of 1.6, 4, 10, 25 and 62.5 mg/l (0.62, 1.54, 3.85, 9.63 and 24.06 mg/L based on active ingredient). Nominal concentrations were verified by analytical measurements. No significant effects were observed after exposure for 21 days. The 21d-NOEC for reproduction was found to be > 24.06 mg a.i./L.

Testing on a similar class of substance confirmed classification as aquatic chronic is not required
