Short term measured data for the registered substance (3
-chloroproyl)diethoxymethylsilane (13501 -76 -3),was available for fish,
invertebrates and algae
A 96-hour LC50 value of 574 mg/L was determined for mortality of Brachydanio
rerio (EU method C.1 acute toxicity to fish, Hüls AG, 1995b). A 48-h
EC50 value of 295 mg/L and a 48-h NOEC value of 106 mg/L have been
determined for the effects on mobility of Daphnia magna (EU
method C.2 acute toxicity for Daphnia magna, Hüls AG, 1994b) and 72-hour
EC50 value of 437 mg/L and NOEC of approximately 57 mg/L have been
determined for the effects on growth rate of Scenedesmus subspicatus (EU
Method C.3 Algal Inhibition test, Hüls AG, 1994c). The results of each
of these studies are interpreted with reference to nominal
concentrations of the test substance. However it is likely that the test
organisms were also exposed to the hydrolysis products of the substance.
