Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The chemical safety assessment according to REACH Annex I indicates that it is not necessary to conduct the soil simulation test.

Simulation test (soil) is not considered necessary because:

•        The substance is used under highly controlled conditions and, therefore, exposure of the terrestrial environment is low.

•          The substance hydrolyses rapidly to silanetriol and ethanol. Silanetriol is an inorganic substance which is expected to enter natural biogeochemical cycles;ethanol is known to biodegrade rapidly.
