Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
weight of evidence
Study period:
2012
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
study well documented, meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
Principles of method if other than guideline:
- Principle of test: Diferential Scanning Calorimetry
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
155.47 °C
Atm. press.:
ca. 1 atm
Decomposition:
no
Sublimation:
no
Conclusions:
The melting point of the test item was determined to be 155.47 ± 0.06 ºC.
Executive summary:

A differential scanning calorimetry test (DSC) was performed to determine the melting point of the test item. Around 5 mg of test item were weighed in non-hermetic aluminium capsules and studied by differential scanning calorimetry over a temperature range extending from T = 293.15 K to the melting point temperature of the sample, with a heating rate of 1 K/min. All determinations were performed in a dry-nitrogen atmosphere. Based on the test results, the melting point of the test item is 155.47 ± 0.06 ºC.
