In the CLP regulation the identification of acute (short-term) and
long-term hazards is based on the aquatic toxicity of the substance,
although this shall be modified by taking account of further information
on the degradation and bioaccumulation behaviour, if appropriate.
The substance does not meet the criteria for classification under the
CLP regulations for hazardous to the environment based on acute fish,
daphnia and algal studies, which gave EC/LC50 values of 14.66 mg/L in
fish, 17.48 mg/L in Daphnia and 2.4 mg/L in algae. The substance does
not meet the classification criteria for Chronic toxicity because it is
readily biodegradable and has a log Kow of ≤ 4 (log Kow = 3.7).
