Reference
Name:
Titanium tetrapropanolate
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
liquid
>= 95 - <= 99 % (w/w)
Reference substance:
Titanium tetrapropanolate
Reference substance:
Titanium tetrapropanolate
This impurity is considered relevant for the classification and labelling of the substance
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The target substance is hydrolytically unstable with hydrolysis half-life less than 5 minutes. Hydrolysis products include 1 -propanol and hydrated titanium dioxide. Titanium dioxide is an inorganic substance and consider not relevant for toxicity evaluation. The intrinsic short-, long-term toxicities of the target substance is based on the organic hydrolysis product.

         The ocatanol-water partition coefficient is 0.34 (log value) for the organic product. The target substance is therefore considered not persistent and no bioaccumulation potential.

         Based on the lowest 48 -h NOEC (growth rate) Chlorella pyrenoidosa of 1150 mg/l, and no other findings of carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, toxicity to reproduction and long-term toxicity to target organs, the target substance is considered non-toxic.
