Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Relative Self-Ignition Temperature, is above the melting point of the substance (102°C).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The autoflammability of the submitted substance was determined. The testing was carried out using a adapted Gas Chromatogramic oven and Data Logger Thermometer. The temperature was increased from ambient temperature at the rate of 0.5 °C/min towards 400 °C. The test item was melted, ran out of the gauze holder, and dripped to the bottom of the oven when the temperature reached the approximate melting point of the material (i.e. around 101 -102°C). In addition, there was no evidence that there was any exothermic events before the sample melted. Thus, it could only be concluded that, the Relative Self-Ignition Temperature, if any, is above the melting point of about 102°C.

According to column 2 from Annex VII from the REACH regulation the study does not need to be conducted if the substance has a melting point ≤ 160 ° C.
