Description of key information

Biodegradation of vinylbenzyl chloride failed to exceed the 60% pass criterion for demonstrating "ready biodegradability" in the manometric respirometry test ( KS_ Manometric Respirometry Test_2017). The results of this test, therefore, demonstrate that vinylbenzyl chloride cannot be classified as "readily biodegradable," according to the OECD 301F: Manometric Respirometry Test (OECD, 1992).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed
