First-aid measures

Inhalation :

Move the person away from the contaminated area. Make the affected person rest.

Skin contact :

Remove all contaminated clothing and footwear. Wash with water. In case of inflammation (redness, irritation, ...) obtain medical attention.

Eye contact :

Rinse with running water whilst keeping the eyes wide open. (at least 15 minutes).

Ingestion :

NEVER attempt to induce vomiting. Rinse mouth out with water.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

- Suitable : Preferably use:Water sprayPowdersCarbon dioxide (CO2)

- Not suitable : None to our knowledge. If there is a fire close by, use suitable

Specific hazards : Combustible.

Specific fire fighting methods : Stay upwind. Cool down the containers/equipment exposed to heat with a water spray. Do not breathe fumes.

Protection of fire-fighters : Complete protective clothing. Self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions :

Avoid contact with eyes. Do not breathe dust. Do NOT approach from DOWNWIND.

Protective equipment: - water-proof boots. - suitable protective clothing. - safety glasses.

Prevent any contact with hot surfaces.

Environmental precautions:

Avoid direct discharge into drains.

Methods for cleaning up

- Recovery : Recover as much of the product as possible. Vacuum up the product.

Collect up the spilled product and place it in a spare container:

- suitably labelled.

Keep the recovered product for subsequent disposal.

- Cleaning/Decontamination : Spray all the contaminated area with large amounts of water.

Handling and storage

Technical measures : Blanket with inert gas. Earth the equipment.

Measures

Avoid contact with moisture/humidity.

Avoid the formation or spread of dust in the atmosphere.

Avoid the build-up of electrostatic charge.

Avoid contact with hot surfaces.

Safe handling advice : Comply with instructions for use (refer to technical sheet). Do NOT handle in the presence of humidity.

Technical measures : The floor of the depot should be impermeable

- Recommended : To guarantee the quality and properties of the product keep:

- protected from light.

- the container tightly closed and dry.

- in a designated area.

Hazardous reactions:

- Hazardous decomposition products : On combustion or on thermal decomposition (pyrolysis) releases:toxic vapours. (Phenol).(Carbon oxides (CO + CO2)).

- Materials to avoid : Reacts with: - strong bases. - aluminium, above 100ºC.

Disposal considerations

RESIDUES FROM PRODUCT

Destruction/Disposal : Incinerate at a licensed installation.

Prohibition : Discharging waste into rivers and drains is forbidden.

CONTAMINATED PACKAGING

Decontamination/cleaning : Cleaning is not required prior to disposal.

Destruction/Disposal : Incinerate plastic films at a licensed installation.

Entrust the cardboard packaging to a licensed waste-contractor.
