Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity of the test item to Rainbow trout was assessed over a period of 21 days
under flow-through conditions. It was tested according to OECD Guideline 204.
This study examined nominal concentrations in the range 0.023 to 6.0 mg/l.
No clinical signs were observed at the lowest test concentration of 0.023 mg/l and at 0.375 mg/l. Clinical signs were observed at 0.094 mg/l and 1.5 mg/l. No influence on the fish weight and size was observed at the lowest three test concentrations (0.023, 0.094 and 0.375 mg/l) . No mortality was observed at the lowest three test concentrations (0.023, 0.094 and 0.375 mg/l) . The two highest concentrations (1.5 mg/l and 6.0 mg/l) caused 100 % mortality after 21 days of exposure.
Therefore, the NOEC was 0.023 mg/l and the threshold level of observed effects was 0.094 mg/l. The LC 50 was between 0.375 mg/l and 1.5 mg/l.
