Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
A saturated solution (2 mg/L) of ZK 28519 did not produce immobilization in Daphnia magna .
The EC50/48 hours of ZK 28519 to Daphnia magna was higher than 100 mg/L (nominal concentration).
Executive summary:

The purpose of this study was to determine the acute toxicity (immobilization, EC50/48 hours) of the product Ethyldienon (ZK 28519) with Daphnia magna in a limit test in order to evaluate the aquatic toxicity. The study was conducted in agreement with the guideline of the OECD, no. 202.

Twenty Daphnia were used for the control group and fourty Daphnia for the test solutions. The Daphnia were exposed to the test solutions and the dilution water control for aperiod of 48 hours under static conditions. Immobilization was recorded at 24 hours and 48 hours. The concentration of the filtered solution was analysed with a TOC-analyzer at 0 and 48 hours. The concentration was below the limit of detection (1-2 mg/L organic carbon).

No immobilized Daphnia was observed in the control and test solutions.
