Description of key information

Skin irritation / corrosion - Eye irritation: No relevant study available but test is not judged pertinent due to the well known corrosive properties of the substance. Indeed nitric acid is classified as a skin corrosive substance category 1A (concentration > or = 20%) and category 1B (5% < or = concentration and 20%) according to the CLP Regulation Annex VI, table 3.1 (EC Regulation 1272/2008 on classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures).
