Description of key information

With regards to explosive properties, it was considered sufficient to provide a statement based on the molecular structure rather than performing a full study. The substance is considered non explosive.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Although the structure presented has an oxygen balance indicative of the potential towards explosivity, this value is very close to the cut off of -200. In addition, there are no structural groups associated with the substance that are indicative of explosivity. Based on the information and review of the above substance, it is deemed not to be potentially explosive, based on the chemical structure and oxygen balance values.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the above mentioned result, classification according to the CLP Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and the Dangerous Substance Directive 67/548/EC is not considered necessary.
