The 3-hour EC50 value for urea phosphate to activated sludge was >100 mg/L with a NOEC of 100 mg/L.
In a reliable OECD 209 guideline study, the respiration rate of the
predominatly domestic sludge was determined after exposure to 100 mg/L
urea phosphate for three hours. No inhibition of respiration rate of the
sludge was recorded at 100 mg Urea Phosphate per litre. Therefore, the 3
-hr EC50 was determined to be >100 mg/L and the NOEC was 100 mg/L.
This was confirmed in a study with urea. The 72 hour toxicity threshold
of Entosiphon sulcatum to urea was 29 mg/l, and the 16 hour
toxicity threshold of urea to Pseudomonas putida was > 10000 mg/l.
