The measurement gave the following results:

Result

Norm conformity

 Status
 #1 Sel  160.1  No  Prelim
#2 Enl  151.9  Yes  Rejected
 #3 Enl  166.2  Yes  OK
 #4 Enl  165.2  Yes OK

Measurement #4 was performed because of the discrepancy between measurements #2 and #3. In view of the result, measurement #2 was rejected as too high.

The flash point is taken as the rounded mean value of the two measurements that are in satisfactory agreement (#3 and #4), giving a value of 166 °C.

The mean atmospheric pressure was 100.5 kPa for the two selected values; the results quoted are corrected to standard atmospheric pressure, 101.3 kPa. Based on the general experience with the method, the error is quoted as ± 2°C.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The flash point of the test item is 166 ± 2 °C at 101.3 kPa.
Executive summary:

The flash point of the test substance was determined according to EU method A.9 and DIN EN ISO 2719 using a Pensky-Martens apparatus. At 101.3 kPa, the flash point is 166 +/- 2 °C.
