Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 requests in Annex IX to investigate effects on terrestrial organisms, in short-term exposure. Column 2 of Annex IX specifies that “In the absence of toxicity data for soil organisms, the equilibrium partitioning method may be applied to assess the hazard to soil organisms. The choice of the appropriate tests depends on the outcome of the chemical safety assessment.” In order to decide on the appropriate approach, REACH Annex IX, column 2 and REACH guidance document R.7c (version 3.0, June 2017) are considered: The guidance document R.7c describes the approach to derive the soil hazard category of a substance and enables to waive data requirements in REACH Annex IX and X, when applicable. The relevant information for the determination of the soil hazard category are: the adsorption potential, the persistence, and the toxicity to aquatic organisms. The terrestrial testing strategy of the substance will be investigated after the performance of the new biodegradation study, requested by the ECHA decision number CCH-D-2114618583-47-01/F. In the meantime, the existing hazard assessment based on EPM continues to be used whilst these additional investigations are ongoing. The temporary use of this approach will not lead to unacceptable risk to the terrestrial compartment. The present dossier will be updated before the ECHA deadline of 02 June 2025.
