Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Vapour pressure data have been published in several literature publications. The accessible and most relevant data are summarised here (more references are provided in the literature search). Obviously some reported data are derived from the same original data. Two of the original publications (Majer et al and Hiraoka et al) are accessible to the registrant. From these two the one of Majer et al is the most reliable study. ESDU (an accepted organisation for evaluation of data) has taken into account both publications and most probably even more data, when preparing their evaluation. For this reason the ESDU values are considered the most appropriate data available. The corresponding value is selected as the key parameter and carried forward for risk assessment, and classification and labelling.

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, 1.2, the available data for vapour pressure is considered to be adequate for the purposes of risk assessment, and classification and labelling, based on the weight-of-evidence.
