Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Studies of the effects on terrestrial organisms need not be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely.

It is proposed that testing is waived as, although the substance has a high Kow of 8.30and a high potential to adsorb to soil, it is readily biodegradable indicating that it will not remain in the environment.

Data are available on two structural analogues, phthalate esters with linear alcohol chain lengths of C6 -8 and C6 -10. The acute toxicity of these substances to the earthworm eisenia foetida was determined during a 14 day exposure period according to EEC Methods. No mortality occurred at the tested limit concentration of 1000 mg/kg dry soil and the 14 day LC50 was > 1000 mg/kg dry soil.
