Administrative data

Endpoint:
flammable liquids: obsolete as covered by section 'Flash point'
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Reference
Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
8 - 17 Feb 2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EPA OPPTS 830.6315 (Flammability)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
closed cup
Flash point apparatus:
Pensky-Martens apparatus
Specific details on test material used for the study:
SOURCE OF TEST MATERIAL
- Source and lot/batch No.of test material: TX7E5501
- Expiration date of the lot/batch: November 10, 2018
- Purity: 87.6%
- Physical state: liquid

STABILITY AND STORAGE CONDITIONS OF TEST MATERIAL
- Storage condition of test material: Ambient temperature
Key result
Flash point:
185 °C
Atm. press.:
101.3 kPa

The instrument was verified using dodecane as the reference substance (expected flash point result of 81 ± 4 °C) and was observed to be 82.0 °C. The mean measured observed flashpoint of the test substance was determined to be 184.8 °C at 756 mm Hg (100.6 kPa) or 185.0 °C when corrected to one atmosphere pressure (101.325 kPa).

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The flash point of Heloxy 107 was 185.0 °C under atmospheric conditions (101.3 kPa) according to EPA OPPTS 830.6315.
Executive summary:

The flash point of Heloxy 107 was tested using a closed-cup method. Two flash point determinations were performed using the test substance. The mean flash point was corrected to 101.3 kPa. The study was conducted in accordance with EPA OPPTS 830.6315 and under GLP; therefore, the study is considered reliable without restriction.
