Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Alcohol resistant foam. Carbon dioxide, dry chemical.

Further Information: Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire. Use water spray to keep fire-exposed containers cool.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: None known.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid contact with liquid and vapours. Use personal protective equipment.

Environmental precautions: Prevent runoff from entering drains, sewers, or streams.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Absorb spillage with suitable absorbent material. Shovel up and place in a container for salvage or disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling

Advice on safe handling: Do not taste or swallow. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wash hands after handling. Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid inhalation of vapours and spray mists.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Static electricity and formation of sparks must be prevented.

Storage

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.
