Additional information

A study was performed in order to determine the extent to which the substance 2-methyl-1,8-octanediamine (MODA) is biodegraded. The study was conducted to GLP and in accordance with the “Biodegradation Study of Chemicals” specified in "About Test Methods for New Chemical Substances" (Kanpogyo Notification No. 5, Yakuhatsu Notification No. 615, and 49 Kikyoku Notification No. 392 dated July 13, 1974) and “Ready Biodegradability: 301C, Modified MITI Test (I)” specified in the “OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals (dated July 17, 1992). Active sludge samples were obtained from 10 Japanese sites, and after preparation were inoculated to the prepared test solutions so that the concentration of suspended substances was 30 mg/L at a temperature of 25±1°C over a period of 28 days and after treatment with a concentration of the test substance of 100 mg/L. The results were compared against a blank and a positive control (aniline).
