Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: It is very unlikely that the substance or grease is inhaled as it is handled in base oil matrix only. If inhalation is
suspected, move patient away from area of contamination, give rest, and seek medical attention. Use artificial respiration for signs of difficulty in breathing.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with water for at least 15 minutes. Consult a
physician.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water and soap. Consult a physician if irritation
occurs.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If swallowed, drink large quantities of water. Seek medical
advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Pure substance: carbon dioxide, foam or powder.

Grease formulation: carbon dioxide, foam or powder.

Product arising from burning: The substance is not flammable, but in a fire will evolve
smoke, and toxic fumes gases and vapours.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: In case of fire, wear full protective equipment including
self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Pure substance: This is a solid material at room temperature and can be collected with a brush. Avoid dust formation.

In grease or oil matrix form: Smaller quantities may be collected by an absorbent. Major spillage should be contained with sand, earth, or similar material and collected into suitable enclosed containers for incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance is stable. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Local exhaust ventilation is not normally required unless
conditions produce mist or high vapour concentrations.
Personal protective equipment should include gloves, long-
armed clothing, and chemical resistant goggles to European
(EN) standards.

Storage: The substance should be stored in its original package at
room temperature. No special ventilation is needed.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Steel containers of 1200 kg, steel drums of 180 kg, or
plastic or steel pails or plastic cartridge of 50 kg.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: No specific hazards have been identified.

Chemical reaction with water: None

Dust explosion: The substance is supplied in the EU only in a mineral oil
mixture, so no dust explosion hazard is foreseen.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: 611 Recovery by mechanical collection

In theory it is possible to recover the neat substance by
mechanical means. However, in practice, the substance is
supplied in the EU only as a solution in a mineral oil base,
so that recovery of the neat substance is not economically
feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: 630 Neutralisation not specified.

No hazardous effect has beeen identified. No special
treatment is recommended for the neat substance.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: 650 Removal by controlled dumping at licensed landfill.

In theory, it may be possible to dispose of the neat
substance through landfill. However, the substance is
supplied in the EU only as a solution in mineral oil, which
should be disposed of with due care, most likely by
incineration.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: 661 Incineration with flue gas scrubbing.

The neat substance may be disposed of by incineration.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: No pre-treatment of the substance is recommended before
discharge to seage works. All such discharges must be within
permitted levels.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable. The substance is not made available to the
public.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable. The substance is not made available to the
public.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable. The substance is not made available to the
public.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable. The substance is not made available to the
public.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable. The substance is not made available to the
public.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Not applicable. The substance is not made available to the
public.
