First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment. Seek immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse eyes thoroughly with clean water for at least fifteen
minutes. Eyelids should be held away from the eyeball to
ensure thorough rinsing.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to
the relevant national or international standards as
mentioned in section 2.3.10. Absorb spillages of solutions
with a suitable inert material (eg. sand or soil). Carefully
transfer the spillage to wastecontainers, or use a sealed
industrial vacuum machine. Containers filled with waste
material must be labelled in the same way as the original
substance containers.



Clean the spillage area with water and detergent. Do not
allow washings to enter foul sewer.


Dispose of waste material in accordance with local
regulations by incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used under
conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with
any local regulations in order to avoid exposure by skin
contact and inhalation.


Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the
substance.


When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows:

Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374

Chemical resistant clothing to Standard EN368

Eye protection to Standard EN166.


Furthermore, when respiratory protective equipment has to be
used, it must be capable of adequately controlling
exposure, be suitable for the purpose, and conform to the
appropriate international or national standards.

Storage: Store in a dry cool environment away from sources of
ignition. Avoid extreme temperatures.

Direct sunshine should be avoided. Can self-ignite when
soaked into porous material (eg. rags, textile insulations,
inorganic materials etc.).


Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Typically 200kg steel drum, 1 tonne semi-bulk container or
in bulk by container lorry.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from minor spillages or accidental discharge is not
economically or technically feasible, and such waste
material will be disposed of by incineration or landfill. In
principle, it may be possible to recover larger spillages
of uncontaminated material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The notification tests have shown that the substance is not
'dangerous'.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with
inert material (eg. sand or soil) may be disposed of by
landfill at an authorised tip in accordance with local
regulations, although disposal by incineration is preferred.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning
under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment
processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases
should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg. carbon and
nitrogen oxides) could be formed.

the sewage system or the aqueous environment. However,
adverse effects on sewage treatment systems would be
