Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek immediate medical

attention. If the victims breathing has stopped, give

artificial respiration.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash affected eye with copious amounts of water, keeping the

eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes. Seek immediate

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area with water

for at least 15 minutes. If irritation is observed, seek

immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry chemical, water or foam.

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a

fire, evolving noxious fumes (eg carbon and nitrogen oxides

and ammonia).

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (see section

2.3.1).

Small spills may be diluted with large quantities of water.

Larger spills should be covered with a layer of sodium

bisulfate, sprayed with water, neutralised with dilute acid

solution and flushed into spillage tanks with copious

quantities of water. Do not discharge neutralized or diluted

spills to the sewer system or waterways. Dispose of waste

material by incineration in accordance with local

regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used in

conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with

any local regulations in order to avoid exposure by skin,

eyes and ingestion.

Engineering controls may be necessary to reduce exposure to

the substance.

The substance severely irritates mucous membranes of eyes,

nose and throat, and even skin, so appropriate personal

protective equipment should be worn. Such protective

equipment should conform to the appropriate international or

national standards as follows;

Chemical protective gloves to Standard prEN374

Chemical resistant clothing to Standard EN368

Eye protection to Standard prEN166

Appropriate respiratory protection should be used. e.g.a

dust mask conforming to EN149 FFP1.

The standards mentioned above should be regarded as a

minimum.

Storage: Store in a dark, dry, well-ventilated area.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 15 kg cardboard boxes containing plastic bags.

Danger other than fire: Do not expose to acids or oxidising agents.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: None reported.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Discharge to the environment will be minimal. Recovery from

minor spillages or accidental discharge is not economically

or technically feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the

hazardous health properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages that have been properly

neutralised may be disposed of by incineration in accordance

with local regulations. It is not recommended to discharge

spills to the sewage system.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment

processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases

should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg carbon and

nitrogen oxides and ammonia) could be formed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: It is not recommended to discharge the substance directly to

the sewage system or the aqueous environment.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
