Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse eyes thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. If irritation occurs, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry chemical, carbon dioxide or water spray may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from the immediate vicinity.

Wear full personal protective equipment eg.gloves,(EN374) goggles(EN166), PVC one-suit(EN368), when handling the wetted material.

Absorb spillages of solutions with a suitable inert material (eg sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to waste containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine. Containers filled with waste material must be labelled in the same way as the original containers.

Clean the spillage area with water and detergent. Avoid directing the washings to the drain.

Dispose of waste material by incineration or landfill in accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be handled and used in conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with any local regulations in order to avoid exposure by skin, eyes and inhalation.

Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the substance.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled, personal equipment such as gloves, goggles, respirator and a PVC one-piece suit and boots when handling the wetted material should be used.

Storage: Store in a dry, well-ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use. Keep at a temperature not exceeding 30 deg C.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene bag in carton case.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Avoid contact with strong oxidising agents, and strong acids and bases. Heating may cause hazardous polymerisation.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: May cause dust explosion.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The substance may be neutralised by a polymerisation reaction into a hardened polymer.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with inert material (eg sand or soil) may be disposed of by incineration or landfill at an authorised tip in accordance with local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment processor in accordance with local regulations. Exhaust gas scrubbing to remove oxides of nitrogen and carbon.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Articles containing the substance may be disposed of as domestic waste.
