Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with water. If irritation develops, seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. If irritation develops, seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, dry powder or carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur together with some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1.

Sweep or scoop up substance and transfer to suitable

containers for disposal by incineration at a licensed

facility.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Protective clothing, safety glasses/eye

protection and gloves should be worn. Ensure dust

concentrations are kept to a minimum, e.g. by using local

exhaust ventilation. An approved dust respirator may be

required.

Storage: Store in sealed containers in a cool place away from strong

oxidisers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be packaged in sealed, poly-lined fibre

containers.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerate at a suitable facility at temperatures >1000 deg

C. Waste gas treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen and

sulfur should be fitted. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: It is feasible to remove a large proportion of the subsance

(76%) at a water purification plant using predominately

adsorption to biomass (sludge).

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain incorporated

into photographic articles, recovery from which is not

feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous properties.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Articles containing the substance can be disposed of as

normal domestic waste.
