Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water holding eyelids apart. If irritation

develops, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Rinse with plenty of water and remove contaminated clothing.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam or dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen together with hydrogen bromide and some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1.

Sweep up spill using inert media and non-sparking tools.

Transfer to waste metal containers and allow to stabilise

before sealing.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Protective clothing, footwear, suitable rubber

gloves and safety glasses/face shield to BS 2092 should be

worn. Dust masks should be worn for handling powders. Ensure

adequate ventilation. Earthing straps must be used if

discharging bulk quantities.

Storage: Store in sealed containers in a cool, dry, well ventilated

area away from direct sunlight.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The preparation containing the substance will be packaged in

UN approved high density polyethylene 25, 60 and 210 l

containers.

Danger other than fire: Avoid oxidising agents.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: May form potentially explosive concentrations in air.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not economically feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: After chemical reaction to an inert derivative, the

substance may be disposed of by landfill. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration at an approved facility is possible with waste

gas scrubbers to remove oxides of nitrogen and hydrogen

bromide. (A660)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain incorporated

into electronic articles.  Recovery from articles is not

feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.
