Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air if adverse effects are observed.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for at least 15 minutes.

Seek medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. Seek medical attention if

irritation develops or persists.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Give two glasses of water if the

person is conscious. Seek medical attention immediately,

symptomatic treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical and alcohol foam are suitable

extinguishing agents. Water may cause splattering of the

substance but it may be used to cool and protect exposed

material.

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and sulfur

oxides. Smoke, aldehydes and other products may also be

formed.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear personal protective equipment cf 2.3.1.

Ventilate the area if spillage is in a confined space or

poorly ventilated area. Prevent entry into sewers or

waterways. Absorb using inert material or collect for

disposal by incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Use with adequate ventilation. Wear safety glasses, nitrile

or neoprene gloves and a long sleeve shirt. Launder

contaminated clothing before reuse. Under normal use

conditions, a respirator is not usually required.

Storage: No special precautions.

Keep containers closed when not in use. Ensure storage area

is well ventilated.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery of the substance for reuse is not feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No method of chemical neutralisation of the hazardous

properties is known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance may be disposed of by incineration at an

approved facility equipped with waste gas treatment to

remove nitrogen and sulfur oxides. (C661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.

Recovery from preparations is not feasible. However, the oil

base may be recovered for reuse.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable at the concentrations involved.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Preparations containing the substance may be disposed of by

incineration at an approved facility equipped with waste gas

treatment to remove nitrogen and sulfur oxides. (C661)

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended, the substance must not enter watercourses.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Preparations used are oil based. The oil should be recovered

for reuse by disposal at an approved waste-oil facility.
