Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: After inhalation remove to fresh air immediately. Seek

medical advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical

advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Try to remove mechanically as far as possible. Then wash

with plenty of water and soap.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink plenty of water. Seek immediate medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: water, foam, CO2

Product arising from burning: Burning may produce toxic fumes: CO, CO2, SO2 and NOx.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: In case of fire an adequate respiration mask (full mask) is

definitely required.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: After spillage cover with wet non-reactive absorbent. Then

collect the substance mechanically, as far as possible. If

possible use an explosion-proof vacuum cleaner. Use personal

protective equipment and dust mask. Eliminate according to

regulations. Drums have to be labelled.

Handling and storage

Handling: In case of dust generation (e.g. charging, weighing) provide

for effective exhaust ventilation. For charging and

discharging use only low-exposure equipment.

Personal should wear protective equipment when handling the

material (safety goggles and clothes, rubber gloves).

Avoid contact with eyes and skin. The aqueous solution of

the material reacts like a strong acid.

Storage: Store in a dry place in steel drums with a polyethylene bag

inside. Drums have to be closed tightly and labelled

according to regulation. Avoid product residues outside of

the containers.

Remarks:
Transport: According to the test results
1,4,7,10-Tetraazacyclododecane-disulfate has not to be
classified as a dangerous good. Nevertheless internal and
external transport should be performed only in UN-tested
well labelled drums. Protect drums from falling down during
transport.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical reaction with water: No chemical reaction. The aqueous solution of the material

is a strong acid.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The material should be dissolved in hot aqueous methanol,

filtered, cooled and precipitated by using isopropanol.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: According to the tests performed main danger of the

substance is its acid property. The simplest method is

neutralization with bases for example carbonate.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended!

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Should be only performed in special incinerators for

chemical waste.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Before discharging aqueous solutions of the material to

waste water treatments neutralization is absolutely

necessary.

In this case affects of the waste water treatments are not

to be expected up to concentration of 100 mg/l.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: as discribed at 6.1.1

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: as described at 6.1.2

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: as described at 6.1.3
