Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure for kerosines ranges from <1 to 3.7 kPa at 37.8 °C (CONCAWE 2010a)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The vapour pressure range for kerosines of <1 to 3.7 kPa at 37.8 °C was obtained from the CONCAWE 2010 Compilation of Selected Physico-Chemical Properties of Petroleum Substances report. The vapour pressure was determined according to the EN 13016-1 method.

An additional vapour pressure for kerosines was obtained from the CONCAWE 1994 product dossier. The vapour pressure of straight run kerosine (14 hPa at 37.8°C) was determined according to the ASTM D323 method. The same study found the vapour pressure of jet fuels to be 140 to 210 hPa at 37.8°C according to the ASTM D323 method. This study was classified as reliable with restrictions.
