Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical aid immediately.

Skin: Immediately flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical aid immediately.

Serious Skin Contact:

Wash with a disinfectant soap and cover the contaminated skin with an

anti-bacterial cream. Seek immediate medical attention.

Inhalation: Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial

respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.

Serious Inhalation:

Evacuate the victim to a safe area as soon as possible. Loosen tight clothing such

as a collar, tie, belt or waistband. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. If the

Victim is not breathing, perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation when the inhaled

material is toxic, infectious or corrosive. Seek immediate medical attention.

Ingestion: If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water. Never give anything

by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

General information: As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. Use water spray to keep fire-exposed containers cool.

Flammable Liquid. Containers may explode when heated.

Extinguishing media: In case of fire, use dry chemical, chemical foam, or CO2.

Use water spray to cool fire-exposed containers.

Never direct a water jet in the container in order to prevent any splashing of the product which could cause spreading of the fire.

Special Remarks on Fire Hazards: May form explosive mixtures with air. Vapor may travel

considerable distance to source of ignition and flash back.

Accidental release measures

General information: Use personal protective equipment as referred to EXPOSURE CONTROLS/ PERSONAL PROTECTION section.

Spills/Leaks: Clean up spills immediately observing precautions in the protective equipment section.

Cover with an activated carbon adsorbent and place into a closed container for disposal. Remove all sources of ignition. Provide ventilation.

Waste Disposal Method: Disposal should be in accordance with local, state or national legislation.

Handling and storage

Handling: Wash thoroughly after handling. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing.

Avoid contact with heat, sparks and flame. Avoid ingestion and inhalation.

Use with adequate ventilation.

Storage: Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Keep away from sources of ignition.

Store in a tightly closed container. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering controls: Use adequate ventilation to keep airborne concentrations low.

Exposure limits

ACGIH: ACGIH TLV-TWA 0.5ppm (2.3mg/m3)

Personal protective equipment

Eyes: Wear appropriate chemical safety goggles to prevent eye contact.

Skin: Wear appropriate chemical resistant gloves to prevent skin exposure.

Clothing: Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure.

Respirator: Use appropriate respirator when necessary.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability: Stable under normal temperatures and pressures. Oxidizes when exposed to air. Air sensitive.

Conditions to avoid: Incompatible materials, ignition sources, exposure to air, and excess heat.

Incompatibility with other materials:

Strong oxidizing agents, acid, and strong bases.

Hazardous decomposition products:

Hydrogen sulfide, oxides of sulfur, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide gas.

Hazardous polymerization: Will not occur.

Disposal considerations

Comply with national and local regulations.

Do not dump this material into sewers, on the ground or into any body of water.
