Conclusions:
The median lethal concentration (LC50) value for 3-methylbutyl benzoate on Lepomis macrochirus in a 96 hours study was estimated to be 14.058 mg/L on the basis of effects on mortality.
Executive summary:

Based on the prediction done using the OECD QSAR toolbox version 3.3 with log kow as the primary descriptor and considering the five closest read across substances, the short term toxicity on fish was predicted for target substance 3-methylbutyl benzoate (CAS no. 94 -46 -2). LC50 value was estimated to be 14.058 mg/l for Lepomis macrochirus for 96 hrs. duration. Based on this value it can be concluded that the substance 3 -methylbutyl benzoate is considered to be toxic to aquatic organisms. Since the test chemical is readily biodegradable in nature, chemical 3 -methylbutyl benzoate can be considered as non-toxic to fish at environmentally relevant concentrations and can be considered to be not-classified as per the CLP classification criteria.
