Description of key information

In studies according to OECD 404 and OECD 405 2,6-dichlorobenzal chloride was neither irritating to skin or the eye.
According to practical experience irritation of skin, respiratory system and eye may occur.

In reliable studies according OECD 404 and OECD 405 with 2,6-dichlorobenzal chloride no relevant irritation effects have been reported.

Based upon practical experience 2,6-dichlorobenzal chloride may induce irritation to the eye, to the respiratory system and to skin in case of partial hydrolytic decomposition with formation of hydrochloric acid.

While no statistically reliable information about this observation is available it is however regarded as conclusive for classification and labelling.

Based upon practical experience 2,6-dichlorobenzal chloride is regarded as irritant to skin, the respiratory system and the eye.
