W= 57.8 mN/m
Executive summary:

 Study data conducted to Guideline EEC/79/831, Annex V Part A.5 in compliance with GLP.

After correction with respect to the table given in the directive A.5. (Harkins-Jordan correction), the final value for the surface tension at 25 °C is:

W=57.8 mN/m.

Description of key information

The surface tension of the aqueous solution at 25 °C has a mean value of 57.8 mN/m. The test item has surface-active properties.

Additional information

A study was conducted according to Guideline EEC/79/831, Annex V Part A.5 in compliance with GLP.

An aqueous solution of the test item in de-ionized water with a concentration of 1000 mg/L was prepared, stirred for 24 hours at room temperature and the solution was adapted to the measurement temperature for 30 minutes. After correction with respect to the table given in the directive A.5. (Harkins-Jordan correction), the test item has a mean surface tension of 57.8 mN/m. As the surface tension is lower than 60 mN/m, the test item has surface-active properties
