Results and discussion
Effect concentrations
- Duration:
- 72 h
- Dose descriptor:
- NOEC
- Effect conc.:
- > 100 mg/L
- Nominal / measured:
- nominal
- Conc. based on:
- test mat.
- Basis for effect:
- cell number
- Remarks:
- average specific growth rates and areas under growth curves.
- Details on results:
- Hydrolysis studies show that A-133816 degrades rapidly (t½ < 1 hour) in water to form2,4, wing acid and N-hydroxysuccinamide.
Chemical analysis was conducted on the "aged" solutions to confirm that A133816.0 had degraded to 2,4 wing acid.
Any other information on results incl. tables
The average growth rate was measured for each replicate flask over the experimental period using daily cell counts. Growth curves were calculated and the area under each curve was determined.
Test material examined in triplicate. Duplicate samples of algal medium were used as controls.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- The results indicate that "aged" A-133816 at 100mg/l nominal has no inhibitory effect on the growth of Selanastrum capricornutum under the conditions of the test.
- Executive summary:
There was no significant difference between growth rates and areas under the curve for test and control flasks.
