Description of key information

The vapour pressure of Penta-PSCA is 1.0 Pa at 20 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
1 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The experimental value for the total vapour pressure is 554 Pa (20°C), which is influenced mainly due to the water content. Therefore it can't be taken as appropriate value and the vapour pressure was calculated assuming that the various components contribute to an extent proportional to their mole fractions.

The calculation gives the following result for the vapour pressure at 20 °C:

Total (active + water): 672 Pa
Active: 1.0 Pa

(Pentapropenylsuccinimido)-caproic acid:4.80E-08 Pa

In conclusion the approximations in the calculation do not result in a large error, so that a reasonable estimate of the vapour pressure of the active components is obtained.

Since the calculated vapour pressure for the active is mainly related to the pentapropylene impurity, for the exposure assessment of (Pentapropenylsuccinimido)-caproic acid the vapour pressure of this component (4.80E-08 Pa) will be used.
