Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Details on results:
BOD gave percentage degradation of 83, 94 and 92%
Since the biodegradability of TPP showed a result of 83 - 94 % after 28 d of
incubation with 30 mg/L sludge and 100 mg/L TPP in a test on ready
biodegradability, there is no significant effect of TPP in the low
concentration range expected.
Conclusions:
Under the conditions used TPP did not adversely affect the micro-organisms present
Executive summary:

The test was conducted in accordance to "301C, Ready Biodegradability: Modified MITI Test (I)" stipulated in the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals (1981).

TPP (100 mg/L) was incubated for 28 days at 25 °C with activated sludge (30 mg/L as concentration of suspended solid) in a volume of 300 mL. Degradation was determined by BOD. Under the conditions used TPP did not adversely affect the micro-organisms present, since the biodegradability of TPP showed a result of 83 - 94 %.

Description of key information

TPP (100 mg/L) was incubated for 28 days at 25 °C with activated sludge (30 mg/L as concentration of suspended solid) in a volume of 300 mL. Degradation was determined by BOD. Under the conditions used TPP did not adversely affect the microorganisms present, since the biodegradability of TPP showed a result of 83 - 94 %.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

The key values should be understood as > 100 mg/L as no effect was observed up to the highest test concentration of 100 mg/L.
