Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Photodegradation in water and hydrolysis have both been observed in preparatory work performed prior to undertaking an algae study (see 6.1.5) however half-lives in water cannot be accurately quantified from this data for use in risk assessment and is not a standard requirement under REACH

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

During a stability test performed as part of the preparatory work for the algae growth inhibition study (see 6.1.5), sealed glass flasks containing nominal fortification concentrations of 0.32 mg/L test substance (previously dissolved in methanol) were stored at ambient temperature in light and dark conditions for approximately 72 hours. For flasks exposed to light conditions, photodegradation of the substance in water was observed corresponding to a 10 fold reduction in concentration under 24 hour per day light conditions for a period of 72 hours.

In samples maintained in the dark under otherwise identical conditions, 64% of the initial test substance concentration was recovered.
