Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
Oxidising properties have been assessed based on the structural properties of the chemical in accordance with EU Method A.21. Examination of the structure of the test substance establishes beyond reasonable doubt that the substance is incapable of showing a positive result in the test described in the EC A.21 guideline. The substance does not contain any group that might act as an oxidizing agent. The impurities were not taken into account but it is not to be expected that these have any influence. It is not to be expected that an interaction between the different components occurs.

Description of key information

Oxidising Properties: Non oxidising

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Oxidising properties have been assessed based on the structural properties of the chemical in accordance with EU Method A.21. Examination of the structure of the test substance establishes beyond reasonable doubt that the substance is incapable of showing a positive result in the test described in the EC A.21 guideline. The substance does not contain any group that might act as an oxidizing agent. The impurities were not taken into account but it is not to be expected that these have any influence. It is not to be expected that an interaction between the different components occurs.

Moreover, the substance can be use as flame retardant, which supports the low potential for oxidising properties.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance did not meet the criteria for classification in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP).
