First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, administer artificial
respiration with a manual resuscitator only. If breathing
is feeble, administer oxygen. Obtain medical attention
immediately.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Do not delay. Separate eyelids with fingers and immediately
flush eyes with copious quantities of water for at least 15
minutes.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin off with plenty of
water. Obtain medical attention if any symptoms develop.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water. Obtain medical attention
urgently. If there is difficulty in breathing, give oxygen.
If breathing fails or stops, give artificial respiration
with a manual resuscitator only.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use water spray, dry chemical powder, carbon dioxide or
alcohol resistant foam as appropiate. Do not use water jet

Protective equipment: Wear full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate area. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus,
protective clothing, rubber boots and heavy rubber gloves.
Spillages should be absorbed using suitable absorption
medium, such as sand, and be swept up. The sweepings should
be stored in closed containers for disposal. Ventilate area
and wash spill site after material pick up.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance is stored, handled and used in conditions of
good industrial hygiene and in conformity with any local
regulations in order to avoid exposure to skin, eyes and by
inhalation.

Engineering controls in the form of closed system charging
under nitrogen and local exhaust ventilation are provided
at the reactor. When engineering controls are not sufficient
to control exposure, approved respirator protection should
be worn to EN-136 (full face respirator). For manufacturing
areas, skin protection should be provided in the form of
overalls, or full air suits (EN 368) along with impermeable
gloves (EN 374). Rubber, neoprene or other gloves (EN 374)
may be required if solvents, corrosives or other chemicals
are present. Chemical safety goggles (EN 166) should be worn
if a full-face respirator is not worn.

Substance may develop pressure in containers; therefore vent
periodically and open carefully using safety shield.
Caution - substance is corrosive.

Storage: Store in tightly closed fibreboard drums in a dry, dark, and
well ventilated place. Storage at ambient conditions is
acceptable. Maximum temperature for storage should not go
beyond 70°C. Keep away from moisture, bases, alcohols,
amines, and light.

Store under nitrogen.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Discharge to the environment will be minimal. Recovery from
minor spillages or accidental discharge is not economically
or technically feasible, and waste material will be disposed
of off-site by closed cycle incineration. Recovery of
larger spillages of uncontaminated material for subsequent
use is recommended. As material is used in the process, no
recycling of material is possible.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with
inert material (eg. sand or soil) may be disposed of by
incineration in accordance with local regulations.

the sewage system or the aqueous environment. However,
