Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

48-hr EC50, immobilization, of PTPA to Daphnia magna: >2.84 µg/L (measured) (OECD 202). Loading rate of 1125 mg/L. PTBA is not toxic at the limit of water solubility.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Perfluorotripropyl amines (PTPA) is a member of the Perfluorinated Organic Chemicals, C5-C18 category. Recent, high-quality studies are available for toxicity to aquatic invertebrates of PTPA and several other category members. In all cases, no toxicity was observed at the limit of solubility. The highest attainable measured concentrations ranged from 1.74 µg/L to 408 µg/L in these acute Daphnia toxicity studies. Loading rates were approximately 1000 mg/L except in the case of FC-770, which had a loading rate of 100 mg/L. This lack of toxicity across members of the category provides additional support for use of readacross to fill data gaps for other toxicological and ecotoxicological endpoints. Please see IUCLID section 13 for the category justification and a matrix of aquatic toxicity data for members of the Perfluorinated Organic Chemicals C5-C18 category.
