First-aid measures

- Eye contact:       Wash immediately with large amounts of water or normal saline. Keep eyelids open with the finger. Get medical advice and show him the label.

- Skin contact:       Wash affected area with soap or mild detergent and large amount of water until no evidence of substance remains (15-20 minutes). Get medical immediately and show him the label.

- Ingestion:       If swallowed wash mouth with water provided person is conscious. Get medical immediately and show container or label.

- Inhalation:       Avoid breathing dust that may be generated by handling the product. Move to fresh air in a well-ventilated area. Consult your doctor if the exposure was significant in terms of quantity or time.

- Acute and delayed effects:       Contact with eyes may cause irritation, with burning, tearing and redness.

Skin contact can cause cracking and irritation.

Exposure to dust of the substance may cause sensitization and respiratory irritation.

-       Medical monitoring:                   Health surveillance of workers is planned in accordance with Article 10 of Directive 98/24/EC (Title IX of the Legislative Decree no. 81/2008), depending on the nature of the risk.

- Immediate treatment at workplace:

      Provide emergency eyewash

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media:       Water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam.

- Unsuitable extinguishing media:       Unsuitable extinguishing media aren’t known

Advice for firefighters: Fire fighters should use self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing

Accidental release measures

- For non-emergency personnel

Wear suitable protected devices. (see section 8)

Wear suitable clothes with full body protection.

In case of fire and/or explosions avoid to breathe smokes and vapours.  Use a respiratory device autonomous (SCBA) and adapted protective clothes.  The vapours can be eliminated through nebulized with water.

The personnel involved in containment and cleaning should wear appropriate personal protective equipment to minimize exposure.

The area must be thoroughly cleaned using adsorbent materials. Collected material should be placed in proper container, labeled and sent to for final disposal.

Handling and storage

- Recommandations for handling:       Handle away from sparkles and flames - sources of ignition

Handle in a well ventilated place

                    Avoid contact with incompatible materials

Wear suitable Personal Protection Equipment (see section 8)

Keep the substance away from drains, surface or ground waters

Conditions for safe storage / incompatibilities: Use container tightly closet and resistant, away from moisture and sunlight. Avoid contact with air and light. Properly label containers in case of pouring and clean external container surfaces with proper detergents and /or solvents.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Protection for eyes /face:

Safety glasses goggles (EN 166), face shield or other full-face protection if it is required also airways protection.

Protection for skin /hands

Use chemical resistant gloves (EN374) with material compatible with solvent in which the substance is dissolved; the actual permeation time through the gloves and their life can be affected by mode of use, temperature and substance quantities handled

Other protection::

In production or packaging plants is recommended full-body suite like Tyvek® type, resistano to penetration by solid particles sprayed (EN ISO 13982-2), low intensity sprays (EN 13034 and EN468) and antistatic (EN 1149).

Technical controls and ventilation

In Production or re-packaging plants: use general ventilation systems, or closed systems to ensure the isolation of the substance from the working personnel. Can be provided additional security according to specific “control band” established for the substance.

Stability and reactivity

The substance is stable when kept in recommended normal storage conditions, No known chemical incompatibilities.

Disposal considerations

Avoid material contact with round or water (do not dispose in sewer systems). Small quantities can be disposed of with same laboratory procedures: the product should be stored in closed containers and disposed of preferably by burning. Containers should be sent to appropriate treatment and final disposal according to local regulations.
