- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: In the event of fire, the following can be released: carbon monoxide (CO); carbon dioxide (CO2)
- Advice for firefighters: Wear protective clothing. Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations. Cool endangered containers with water spray jet. Use self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Keep away sources of ignition. Use personal protective clothing. Keep people away and stay on the upwind side.
- Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter drains or waterways. Do not discharge into the subsoil/soil.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Pick up with absorbent material.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handeling: The substance is rigorously contained by technical means during its whole lifecycle including manufacture, purification, cleaning and maintenance of equipment, sampling, analysis, loading and unloading of equipment or vessels, waste disposal or purification and storage. Only properly trained and authorised personnel handle the substance. Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation, if necessary). This substance has been registered as transported isolated intermediate, according to REACH art. 18. For exposure limitation the requirements according to art. 18 no. 4a-f have to be met. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash hands before breaks and after work. Do not inhale vapours. Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages. Keep away from sources of ignition - refrain from smoking. - Eye/face protection: Tightly fitting safety glasses (EN 166).
- Hand protection: Under exceptional conditions (such as unintentional release of chemicals, exceeding of threshold values for air) gloves must be worn. Before use, the protective gloves should be tested in any case for its specific work-station suitability (i.e. mechanical resistance, product compatibility and antistatic properties). Adhere to the manufacturer’s instructions and information relating to the use, storage, care and replacement of protective gloves. Protective gloves shall be replaced immediately when physically damaged or worn. Design operations thus to avoid permanent use of protective gloves.
- Skin protection: Wear suitable protective clothing; Protective shoes
