First-aid measures

DESCRIPTION OF FIRST AID MEASURES

Inhalation -

If inhaled, move to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration and/or oxygen. Get medical attention if symptoms occur and persist.

Skin contact -

Remove contaminated clothing. Wash exposed skin with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if symptoms occur and persist.

Eye contact -

Immediately wash with plenty of water, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Continue for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms occur and persist.

Ingestion -

If swallowed, wash out mouth with water. Do not induce vomitin gunless directed by medical personnel. Get medical attention personnel.

MOST IMPORTANT SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS, BOTH ACUTE AND DELAYED

To the best of our knowledge the toxicity of this substance has not been fully investigated, thus symptoms and effects are not fully known. May be harmful if swallowed, on skin or inhaled. Exposure to high doses may cause effects to the hematological system. Suspected of damaging the unborn child. Other adverse effects cannot be excluded.

INDICATION OF ANY IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION AND SPECIAL TREATMENT NEEDED

Treat symptomatically and supportively.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

Suitable extinguishing media -

Use water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide as appropriate for surrounding fire and materials.

Unsuitable extinguishing media -

No limitations given for this substance

SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE

Combustible, but not flammable. In case of fire toxic fumes of carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) may be emitted. High concentrations of finely divided airborne organic particles can potentially explode if ignited.

ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes. Prevent fire-extinguishing water from contaminating the watercourses.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

If the product is released or spilt, take proper precautions to minimize exposure by using appropriate personal protective equipment (see section Exposure Controls / Personal Protection). Avoid raising dust. The area should be adequately ventilated.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS

Collect spillage and place in specific bins and send for destruction. Avoid release to drains.

METHODS AND MATERIAL FOR CONTAINMENT AND CLEANING UP

A small spill may be handled with water moistened disposable cloth and placed in container for chemical waste. A larger spill should be collected and placed in container for disposal. Use recommended personal protective equipment. Wash spill site with water after completed pick up.

Handling and storage

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING

Avoid dust generation and inhalation of dust. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Ensure good ventilation. Use recommended personal protective equipment. A device for eyewash should be available. Use recommended personal protective equipment.

CONDITIONS FOR SAFE STORAGE, INCLUDING ANY INCOMPATIBILITIES

Store at regular indoor conditions, generally 15 to 25 C, and keep the container tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

CONTROL PARAMETERS

To the best of our knowledge, established occupational exposure limit value is not available for MM132.

Recommended Occupational Exposure Limit Value:

Substance                        Value                        Control Parameters                                          Comments

MM132                       100-1000 µg/m3                LTEL 8h                                                         In-house limit

LTEL: Long-term exposure limit (8h TWA (time-weighted average))

EXPOSURE CONTROL

Appropriate engineering controls -

Use appropriate controls (e.g. containment, local exhaust ventilation) as specified in a workplace risk assessment. Technical measures and appropriate operations should be given priority over the use of personal protective equipment. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

Personal protective equipment -

Eye face protection - Wear safety glasses with slide shields. An emergency eyewash station should be available.

Skin protection - Handle with gloves. The selected gloves must comply with the specifications in EC Directive 89/686/EEC and the related standard EN374 or applicable federal, state and national legislation.

Protective clothing - Use impervious, disposable clothing to prevent skin contact, The type should be selected according to concentration filters. In laboratories, use fume hood or dust control hood.

Environmental exposure controls - Do not release into drains or watercourses.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity -

No known reactivity hazards under normal conditions.

Chemical stability -

The substance is chmically stable at standard room temperature conditions, generally 15 to 25 C.

Possibility of hazardous reactions and conditions to avoid -

None known

Incompatible materials -

Strong oxidants; strong acids or bases

Hazardous decomposition product -

Carbon oxides (COx) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) may be formed

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods -

Dispose waste at authorized plant, in accordance with Directive 2008/98/EC and/or applicable federal, state national or local legislation.
