First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

If on skin

Immediately remove splashed or contaminated clothing. Shower and rinse your entire body with abundant water. Wash contaminated parts of the body with soap and water.

Contact a doctor.

If contact with eyes

Immediately rinse abundantly with water for around ten minutes.

Consult an ophthalmologist immediately.

If inhaled

If possible, hold your breath and leave the contaminated area. Remove any injured person from the area.

Lie the victim down and keep the person warm.

Contact a doctor.

If swallowed

Immediately transfer the person to the hospital.

In any case, transfer the injured person to the hospital.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Cough, dyspnea, chest oppression, dizziness.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

No data

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Appropriate means of extinguishing fires

Carbon dioxide, chemical powder, physical foam.

Inappropriate means of extinguishing fires

NO water

Special hazards arising from the subtance or mixture

Hazardous decomposition products

It can decompose in the presence of heat, producing toxic and corrosive vapours (hydrochloric acid, nitrogen and phosphorus oxides).

Advice for firefighters

Qualified staff should wear standalone isolating respiratory devices and appropriate protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Protection equipment

Wear individual protection equipment recommended in section 8 before taking any action.

Protection and prevention measures

Evacuate people from the danger area

Environmental precautions

Suppress and limit spreading. Do not discharge into the sewer or into the natural environment.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Collect and recycle the substance, if possible.

Cover with absorbent material (soil, sand etc…) to limit spreading.

Collect waste using a mechanical device, in an appropriate container, and clearly label for destruction according to applicable regulations.

Destroy by incineration using an installation complying with regulations.

Reference to other sections

Exposure control parameters as described in section 8 are applicable in case of accidental dispersion.

Waste from cleaning must be treated in accordance with the provisions of section 13.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Prevention / protection measures

- Health :

Do not handle with bare hands.

 Do not ingest.

 Avoid contact with eyes.

 Avoid inhalation of vapours.

Respect the recommendations of section 8.

- For the environment :

Avoid contamination of the environment directly via surface water or via the soil and indirectly via the water evacuation system.

General advice on hygiene at work

- Do not eat, drink or smoke while working.

- Wash your hands before breaks and at the end of the day.

- If necessary, take a shower at the end of the work.

- Keep personal protections and work clothes clean.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Technical measures and storage conditions

- Keep away from humidity

- Store away from heat in a cool and ventilated place.

- Avoid any source of ignition

- Store in the original packaging, closed appropriately.

- Incompatible material to keep away: alcohols, strong bases, amines, phenol.

Packaging materials

- Store in metallic container with polyethylene skin, glass bottle for samples

- Avoid any other type of packaging

Specific end use (s)

Internal use as synthesis of intermediate

Sample for analytical characterization tests

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls

Appropriate engineering controls

Aspiration of vapours at the emission point.

Adequate ventilation, especially in closed places.

Personal protective equipment

• Eye protection : wear safety goggles and face shield.

• Skin and body protection : acid-proof clothing, apron and boots

• Hand protection : PVC or synthetic rubber gloves

• Respiratory protection : protection mask against organic vapours or standalone isolating respiratory device

Reducing exposure to protect the environment

Avoid contaminating the environment directly via surface water or via the soil or indirectly via the water evacuation system.

Other information:

Decontamination measures: hand wash, shower, eye wash nearby. Wash station with soap nearby. Decontamination shower nearby.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

No data

Chemical stability

The substance is stable in normal recommended storage and use conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

No data

Conditions to avoid

Avoid any source of heat.

In case of important packaging heating, risk of polymerisation, decomposition, pressure increase and container breaking.

Incompatible materials

Water, acetone, cellulose and similar materials (paper, tissus...).

Hazardous decomposition products

Hydrochloric acid in presence of water

Hydrochloric acid, nitrogen and phosphorus oxides by thermal decomposition

Disposal considerations

Waste / unused product

- Waste disposal is only possible in centers authorized by the competent administrative authority,

- Waste must be treated under the conditions authorized by the regulations,

- Do not discharge into the sewer or in the natural environment.

Contaminated packaging

- soiled packaging must be disposed of the same way as the product itself.
