Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove the person to fresh air.

Seek immediate medical attention.

If person is unconcious, place in the recovery position.  If

breathing has stopped, begin artificial respiration.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes.

Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.

Wash the affected area immediately with soap and copious

amounts of water for at least 15 minutes.

Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical

extinguishers and sand or dolomite may be used

Product arising from burning: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ammonia

and hydrogen cyanide may be generated by combustion

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective

clothing

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Spills should be collected using brooms and shovels,

minimizing dust, and stored in a clearly labelled sealed

drum pending disposal by incineration.  The substance should

not be allowed to enter waterways or drainage systems

Handling and storage

Handling: Wear a dust mask, close fitting goggles and protective,

chemical resistant gloves.

Local exhaust ventilation should be in use to minimise dust.

Storage: Store in cool, dry, dark conditions using original

containers.  Ensure containers are correctly labelled and

are tightly closed after use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 20 liter flexible container.

180 liter metal drums.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance may be recovered from solution for disposal as

it precipates when the solution is adjusted to pH 9.  It may

then be recovered by filtration.

See annex dossier for experimental details.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Neutralisation would not be necessary or desirable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: This is the preferred method for disposal of waste.

Code 660

Flue gases should be scrubbed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None recommended

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not be available to the public at large
