First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air.  Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with water. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Flush with water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, foam, dry powder or fine water spray, may be

used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

iodine products, together with some soot.

Protective equipment: Respiratory: a respirator with an organic vapour/dust

cartridge must be worn if the product is used in

circumstances where an aerosol or mist may be generated,

such as during spraying or similar activities.

Hand: chemical protective gloves or gauntlets should be worn

and removed correctly to avoid skin contamination.

Eye: chemical splash goggles should be worn.

Skin: wear impervious overalls when handling this product.

Industrial hygiene: remove contaminated clothing. Wash after

handling, especially before eating, drinking or smoking.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Isolate spillage.  Gloves, goggles, dust mask and full

personal protective equipment should be worn.  Absorb spill

with suitable absorbent material eg sand.  Sweep up spill or

use industrial vaccuum fitted with suitable dust filtration

system.  Transfer to suitably labelled containers and

dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Local ventilation is recommended. General ventilation is

required. Avoid skin and eye contact. Do not breathe spray

or mist.

Storage: Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool dark place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Dow corning (R) 2-7103 will be packaged in 100g plastic

bottles and 500 g and 5 kg cans.

Danger other than fire: No formal reaction with water, however under the influence

of UV light the substance may undergo photo degradation to

trifluoromethonesulfonic acid, 3-iodotoluene, toluene,

dodecyliodobenzene, iodobenzene and dodecylbenzene.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Dow Corning(R) 2-7103 catalyst becomes cured within the

final coating. The release coating will be recycled or

incinerated.

local regulations.
