Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate with plenty of water for fifteen minutes

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon and nitrogen oxides may be formed in fires. Water

spray, carbon dioxide and dry powder may be used as

extinguishants. Wear self contained positive pressure

breathing apparatus and full fire fighting protective

clothing. Dike area and use limited amounts of

extinguishing agent to prevent runoff.

Handling and storage

Handling: Minimize exposure by providing a good enclosure and local

ventilation. Wear protective clothing to prevent skin

contact. Wear goggles if eye/ face contact can occur.

Storage: Store at room temperature in the absence of moisture.

Polymerisation may occur on storage at higher temperatures.

Avoid contact with heat, light, polymerisation initiators

and strong oxidising agents.

and strong oxidising agents. Material is very soluble in

water.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Waste water from the process should be sent to an on-site

biological waste water treatment plant before discharge.
