Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance can be safely characterised as a rather coarse material, with only 5.38% of the total material passing through a sieve with mesh size of 75μm. Furthermore, the particle size distribution of that finer fraction showed that it is consisted of rather coarse particles, with a median (L50) of 35μm.
Only 17% of that fraction had an aerodynamic diametre of 10μm or lower (as can be derived from the attached illustration below), translating in roughly 1% of the total material.

Additional information

Based on the results of the analysis, the substance can be safely characterised as a rather coarse material, with only 5.38% of the total material passing through a sieve with mesh size of 75μm. Furthermore, the particle size distribution of that finer fraction showed that it is consisted of rather coarse particles, with a median (L50) of 35μm. It can be assumed that distribution of the substance in the atmosphere with the aid of wind is unlikely. Also, the large particle size reduces the potential hazards that might occur through inhalation of the substance's dust since they cannot reach the lower respiratory system. Only 17% of that fraction had an aerodynamic diametre of 10μm or lower (as can be derived from the attached illustration below), translating in roughly 1% of the total material.
